The first half of 2018 saw a return of volatility. Although stocks experienced a 10% correction during Q1, US stocks have posted solid returns year-to-date, with large-cap stocks up 2.7% and small-cap stocks up 7.7%. International stocks did not fare as well, down -2.8% due to a strong dollar and trade war concerns. Emerging Market stocks struggled, down -6.7%, bonds were down -1.6%, and hedge funds were slightly positive (+1.2%).
